I attended the brandy tasting/pairing evening at Gray. This was not my first visit and we were all desperately disappointed. The service was terribly slow and the food did not make up for the wait. The meat in the main course was dreadful and the entire course was ice cold. We waited an hour between courses and we were all hungry at the end of the evening. We paid R450 per person with tip and felt thoroughly cheated. Despite writing immediately to the restaurant, we did not receive any response! Sad because we enjoyed the first visit enormously and the East Rand so badly needs good restaurants!

The food (5 course set menu) was excellent, but the service was unbearably slow, partly the waiter but mainly the food coming out of the kitchen. We had to wait at least 30 minutes after the course before our plates were taken away for the new course to be brought. Drinks service also poor. The food was tasty, but the evening was far too long!

Wow! Every time we come to Gray restaurant it is an amazing experiance, the food is amazing, the service perfect, and the ambience is always great. Thank you!
